CM has also agreed to reopen schools

  Uddhav Thackeray on Monday approved the commencement of the academic year online and detailed the standard operating procedure that schools would have to follow once to reopen physical classes.  The CM has also agreed to reopen schools in areas far away from cities that are completely Kovid-19 free after taking adequate precaution.
  The decision was taken in a video-conference meeting on Monday between Thackeray and School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad and other officials.
  As per SOP, online teaching will not be allowed for pre-primary section and classes I and II.  However, educational materials can be provided to students on television and radio.
  Specifies a maximum of one hour of online teaching for classes III to V, two hours for classes VI to VIII and three hours for students of classes IX.
  A school can be reopened in a village, if the Kovid-19 case has not occurred for at least a month.  The notional reunion for classes IX, X and XII is July, August for classes VI to VIII is September for classes III to V and classes I to III can reopen after approval from school management committees.  For the tenth grade, the date will be fixed after the declaration of the result of the tenth grade.
  When physical classes resume, schools must either walk two innings or call students on alternate days.  Each innings cannot exceed three hours at a time.  Schools will have to cleanse their premises and make efforts to provide food grains till the students come to class.
