Ayodhya's Historic Day: The Ram Temple's Sacred Flag Rises.
Ayodhya saw a moment that many had been looking forward to for centuries on November 25, 2025. Millions of devotees' centuries-old hope was realized when the holy flag was raised atop the recently constructed Ram Temple, marking a significant milestone. Everyone who saw it, whether in India or elsewhere in the world, found the sight to be breathtaking, bizarre, and emotionally overwhelming.
The ritual of raising the sacred flag started precisely at the appointed auspicious moment. The moment had been anxiously anticipated by devotees. The saffron-colored flag gently rose into the sky while sacred chants were chanted. The Prime Minister watched the ceremony with intense passion, paying close attention to the spiritual moment.
The ceremony was attended by thousands of renowned visitors. Chants of "Jai Shri Ram" reverberated across Lord Ram's birthplace in Ayodhya, creating an aura of fervor and devotion. Participants in the celebrations included members of Ramayana-related communities, such as Nishad Raj and Shabari's adherents.
Agahan Vivah Panchami, which commemorates the celestial union of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, is highly revered in Hindu tradition. The flag-hoisting ceremony was held on this important day, giving the celebration even more spiritual significance.
The Prime Minister spoke to the assembly after the flag was raised, stating that the sacred flag represents the victory of truth and the everlasting presence of righteousness. He underlined that dharma is based on truth and that truth itself is a representation of the divine spirit.
According to him, the flag will serve as a constant reminder to coming generations that the truth always wins out. Uttar Pradesh's chief minister also spoke to the crowd, pointing out that the country was going through a resurgence of spiritual and cultural awakening. He devoted the day to the saints, followers, and many others who gave their lives to the Ram temple movement.
The leader of a significant religious organization said that the day was genuinely historic and that the souls of those who gave their lives in defense of this hallowed institution will at last find peace. Today was the realization of the dream of many saints, devotees, scholars, and simple people who had contributed to this protracted effort. Following the event, the Chief Minister gave an idol of Ram Lalla that had been installed in the temple and a replica of the saffron flag to the Prime Minister and the religious leader.
The flag of the Ram Temple itself has great meaning. The flag, which is supported by a 161-foot mast, weighs about 21 kg of gold. Along with the holy word "Om," it has symbols like the sun and the Kovidar tree. The flag is made to survive winds of up to 200 km/h, as well as intense sunlight, rain, and humidity. It was created over the course of 25 days by seven artists using parachute-grade nylon, silk, and satin threads.
A flying flag on a temple indicates the presence of the deity in their divine form, according to ancient texts like the Garuda Purana and Agni Purana. From a distance, it also communicates that the temple is available to worshippers and has been sanctified. According to scripture, a temple with a hoisted sacred flag is impervious to bad spirits.
Cosmic energy is thought to flow through the temple's peak, and the flag represents this potent heavenly movement. The flag's saffron hue stands for purity, sacrifice, and the enduring triumph of truth. As a symbol of devotion, kings used to fly their clan's flag at temples. An old Suryavanshi custom is revived by the Ram Temple's saffron banner, which features the Kovidar tree.
Ayodhya once again reverberated with the spirit of Ram Rajya, signifying peace, righteousness, and the victory of dharma, with the giant saffron flag flying gloriously over the temple.
